Treaty of Alcanice (12 September 1297)

The Treaty of Alcanices was signed by King Denis of Portugal and King Ferdinand IV of Castile and León in 12 September 1297, in Alcañices, near the Portuguese town of Bragança. This peace treaty between the two kingdoms defined the border between them, making the border between Portugal and Spain one of the oldest borders in Europe.
